Before this year's season, farmer Stig Bjørnar Ahlin invested in a Valtra Q305 with Valtra Guide and an Amazone ZA-V 2000 fertilizer spreader with section control. After two rounds, he has saved 7,800 kg of fertilizer compared to last year. That is a saving of 3.580 Euros in one year.

'The right technology is essential for success in today's agriculture. Even though the equipment is expensive, the inputs are so expensive that you can still save a lot. I've applied 4-5 fewer bags of fertiliser this year than last year, just by using Valtra Guide and section control,’ explains Stig Bjørnar Ahlin from Overhalla, Norway.
With a milk quota of 350 tonnes and 100 bulls on the family farm he took over from his father in 2007, he grows 650 acres of grass for feed. Last autumn he decided to invest in a new tractor and got a good deal on a Valtra Q305 from Eiksenteret Namsos together with an Amazone ZA-V 2000 Profis Tronic fertiliser spreader with Isobus.
'A representative from Eiksenteret helped me set up the Valtra Guide and Section Control for the first time. After that, it's just been a case of plugging in and driving. I've now driven 650 acres twice with the same setup on the spreader as last year. I've used 7,800 kg of fertiliser, which means a saving of €3.580 in one year. That's a surprising amount.'
He also uses the Valtra Guide for seed drilling, harrowing and rolling.
‘I haven't regretted my choice of Valtra for a single day. It's easy to use and good to drive. SmartTouch works well. With several patches of land within a couple of miles of the farm, there is a lot of road travelling, but the Q305 has enough power to pull heavy equipment along the road. There's also the peace of mind of a five-year factory warranty,’ Ahlin emphasises.
