Valtra expands assembly plant in Suolahti

Partek´s tractor business, Valtra, will expand its assembly plant in Suolahti, Finland during 2002 and 2003. The expansion is motivated by the continuously growing international demand for Valtra tractors. The size and the versatility of the tractors is increasing and this also influenced the investment decision.

Major order for Valtra in China

Valtra, the Tractors business area of Partek Corporation, has received an order from China valued at USD 9.6 million. This order will double the number of Valtra tractors in China. Valtra has been active in the Chinese market for two years. The new order is an addition to a previous one for around 150 tractors.

The environmental management system of Sisu Diesel Inc., situated in Nokia Finland has been approved by Det Norske Veritas. The certificate was received by Managing Director Eero Tomi in January 2002.

Record amount of Sisudiesel engines in 2001

The record number of 24 000 Sisudiesel engines was manufactured last year by the company Sisu Diesel Inc. belonging to the Partek Group. This represents an increase of 15% from the previous year. The number of engines manufactured has steadily increased over the last ten years.
